A Quick Look at  Palisades' Roller Coasters

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is "How high was the Cyclone coaster? I have tried to get the most accurate figure possible to help answer this question. Palisades Amusement Park published several varying heights of their most famous coaster ranging anywhere from 89 feet to 108 feet. The Park was notorious for exaggerating their figures. Amusement park historian, Steve Urbanowitz, has viewed the actual blueprints for the Cyclone, originally known as the Skyrocket. Steve states the Cyclone coaster was 79 feet tall and the first drop did not go all the way down to the ground. Since I respect Steve's opinion on this one, I will let this statistic stand unless other some evidence comes my way. Also, special thanks go out to coaster historian, Mike Chew, for helping with some of the information on this page. Here are some other statistics for the various coasters that called Palisades Amusement Park home.
