Little Miss America Returns in 2007

On June 13th at the Fort Lee Community Center outdoor stage at 1355 Inwood Terrace the Fort Lee Film Commission and the Fort Lee Recreation Department will sponsor the annual "Little Miss America" pageant as part of the 2007 Movies & Music Under the Stars summer program. The Community Center outdoor stage will be transformed for one night into the magical Palisade Amusement Park stage. The Little Miss America Pageant debuted at the park in 1961 and remained one of the most popular annual events at the park. Girls between the ages of five and ten will be judged on style, poise and personality at the 2007 event. The program starts at 7pm on June 13 and the entry deadline is May 14th, 2007.

Interested participants must be the appropriate age by Wednesday, June 13th in order to be eligible and they must be residents of the Borough of Fort Lee. (Proof of age and residency will be required). Performances must be limited to one and a half minutes or less. Participants must provide any musical accompaniment on a tape or CD. Any instruments must be portable. Performances will be screened for appropriateness, after which twenty-five applicants will be selected to compete for Little Miss America 2007. All contestants will receive a memento for their participation. Application deadline: May 14, 2007.
